Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases in which a person
has high blood sugar, either the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or the
cells do not respond to the insulin that is produced. This will produce the
classical symptoms of polyuria (frequent urination), polydipsia (increased
thirst) and polyphagia (increased hunger). If untreated, it can cause many
complications.

leads to type 2 diabetes. High blood glucose can cause glucose absorption in
the lens of the eye and leads to changes in its shape which results vision
changes.
